EHCT Cable Tray

Heavy Duct Cable Tray

EHCT Cable Tray Systems

Heavy duty cable tray is a high-strength, heavy-load cable support system made of thickened steel. It features strong rigidity, good stability and high load capacity, widely used for laying large heavy power cables in industrial plants, docks and infrastructure projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a heavy-duty pallet cable tray?
A heavy-duty pallet cable tray is a high-load, thick-plate, and strong-structured metal cable support system. It is specially designed for large-section, heavy-weight cables (such as power, dynamic, metallurgical, and petrochemical cables). With thicker bottom/side plates, reinforcing ribs, and welding/riveting reinforcement, it meets the requirements of long span, high load-bearing, and harsh working conditions.
How to judge if a project needs a heavy-duty pallet?
Choose heavy-duty if any of the following conditions are met:
  • Total weight of cables per section > 200kg/m

  • Span > 3m (standard 3m/6m)

  • Multi-layer stacking and dense large-current power cables

  • Outdoor/corrosive/high-temperature/high-vibration industrial environment

  • Code requirement: Safety factor ≥ 1.5

How to calculate the load?
Total load = Cable weight + Cable tray self-weight + External load (snow/wind/maintenance)
  • Allowable deflection: ≤ Span L/200 (≤10mm for 2m span)

  • Safety factor: ≥ 1.5

  • Example: Heavy-duty pallet with 2m span, 2.5mm steel plate, and 300mm width: Approximately 400–500kg/m

How to determine the span and bracket spacing?
  • Standard horizontal: 3m (light-duty), 2m (recommended for heavy-duty)

  • 6m long span: Reinforcing ribs/truss structure is required

  • Vertical installation: ≤1.5m per bracket

  • Tees/elbows/reducers: Add additional brackets

Maintenance cycle?
  • Industrial/outdoor: Check deflection, bolts, corrosion, and grounding every 3–6 months

  • Indoor conventional: Once a year

  • Corrosive areas: Every 1–3 months
